The Ultimate Gift

Last week I had lots of travel time in the car so I stopped by the local library to find some audio books...

I found two. "The Ultimate Gift" by Jim Stovall and "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks. I've always been a sucker for Nicholas Sparks' books ever since I first read "TheNotebook" in high school. However, "The Ultimate Gift" also really caught my eye. I would recommend it for all! Such a heartwarming story about the power of change and what really matters in this world. As I was listening I was going through my "answers" to each gift and would love to take the journey with you as you do the same. The summary of the months is below and I plan to give a little insight into my thoughts over the next few weeks as well! I'm excited to join you on the journey to the ultimate gift!

The twelve gifts in the movie "The Ultimate Gift" were:

1) the gift of work (he must learn to work for his money)
2) the gift of money (he must learn to handle his money wisely)
3) the gift of love (he must learn to love unconditionally)
4) the gift of friends (he must find friends who accept him without his money)
5) the gift of laughter (he must learn to see the joys of life)
6) the gift of giving (must learn to be generous, especially with money)
7) the gift of family (he must spend time with family)
8) the gift of problems (he must learn to face and solve problems for himself)
9) the gift of learning (he must learn to learn, he doesn't know everything)
10) the gift of dreams (he must have dreams, dreams for his life)
11) the gift of gratitude (he must learn to be thankful for what he has)
12) the gift of a day (What would you do with your last day on Earth)

2 simple words... Thank You

I don't know about you, but I tend to SAY "Thank You" a lot. Maybe even over use it in the general day to day. However, when I think of the people that I truly need and want to thank for the various things they have done or way they have touched my life, I have been lacking. Maybe it is hard to verbalize how much someone made an impact on you. It is a lot easier to say, "Thank you for the movie you gave me. I will enjoy watching it." Or, "Thank you for your generous gift."

The most generous gift and the most wonderful present is not something you can see like a movie, doll, clothes, cash, gift card, etc. The most wonderful gift is having individuals and groups shape your life and make you into the person you are today.

That is the purpose of this blog. To thank those who have helped shape me to me. I plan to not only blog the thank you, but also send a hand written thank you to each individual that I can. Unfortunately, I have waited too long to thank everyone. I may still hand write the note and put it somewhere special. They will be a reminder to thank people as you can because all to often they are gone before you realize that you should thank them.

Also, If you would like to join with me, you can! I would be glad to have guest posts from you. E-mail me at tylettersblog(at)yahoo.com and we will see what we can do! Thank you for taking the ride to thank others along with me!
